Ask Warp¶
Talking to Warp: asking, attaching, reading answers, and managing your conversations.
Q: What is Ask Warp?
A: It is warpSpeed's assistant. You can ask it anything across your connected data (email, calendar, tasks, notes and contacts), it takes actions on your behalf, and it remembers the conversation. See Getting Started with Ask Warp.
Q: How do I open it?
A: Two ways, both the same conversation. Tap the Ask Warp button in the centre of the bottom tab bar to open it as a sheet over what you are doing, or open the Tools menu and tap Ask Warp for the full screen. See Getting Started with Ask Warp.
Q: What is the difference between the sheet and the full screen?
A: Only how much room you get. The sheet sits over your current screen and picks up its context, so you can ask about the email or event you are looking at. The full screen has no navigation in the way and suits longer sessions. See Getting Started with Ask Warp.
Q: How do I ask Warp something?
A: Type in the composer at the bottom in ordinary language and send. Warp answers questions, takes actions across Email, Calendar, Tasks and Notes, and keeps context through the conversation. See Asking Warp a Question.
Q: What does Short Answer do?
A: Next to the composer is an answer-length control set to Long Answer by default. Switch it to Short Answer and Warp gives you the key fact without the reasoning. See Asking Warp a Question.
Q: Can I edit a message I already sent?
A: Yes. Long-press your own message and choose Edit. That re-runs it, so you can rephrase rather than retyping. Copy and Select are on the same menu. See Asking Warp a Question.
Q: What are the prompt suggestions on the start screen?
A: Example questions that cycle on the entry screen before you start. Tap one to put it in the composer. They are worth browsing even when you know what to ask, since they cover things people do not realise Warp can do. See Using Prompt Suggestions.
Q: How do I attach a file or photo?
A: Tap the paperclip in the composer and choose Camera, Gallery (up to 20 images) or Files (PDF, plain text, images). Add a message saying what you want done with it. See Attaching Files to a Warp Message.
Q: How do I dictate instead of typing?
A: With the composer empty, tap the microphone, speak, then tap Stop. Review the transcription and send. The microphone only appears while the composer is empty. See Talking to Warp with Voice Input.
Q: Warp said it couldn't complete my request. What now?
A: Tap Try Again below the error. If it keeps happening, Warp is usually struggling to reach your data; rephrasing or starting a new conversation clears it more often than retrying. See Reading Warp's Responses.
Q: Why has Warp told me to start a new conversation?
A: There is a limit on how long one conversation can run, and you have reached it. Tap New chat. It is worth doing before the limit anyway, since long threads accumulate context and answers get vaguer. See Reading Warp's Responses.
Q: How do I copy a response?
A: Tap the copy icon below it and choose Copy message for that answer or Copy conversation for the whole thread. See Working with Warp's Responses.
Q: Can Warp read an answer out loud?
A: Yes. Tap the volume icon below the response; tap it again to stop. See Working with Warp's Responses.
Q: How do I export a conversation?
A: Tap the export icon below a response, choose Export Answer or Export Full Chat, then set the file name and pick PDF or Docx. See Exporting a Conversation.
Q: What is the Sources button?
A: It shows what Warp drew on to answer, as cards you can tap to open the original email or note. It only appears when Warp cited your data, so a general question will not have one. See Viewing Sources for a Warp Response.
Q: How do I give feedback on an answer?
A: Thumbs up or thumbs down below the response. Thumbs down also opens a form if you want to explain what went wrong, though the rating alone is enough. See Reporting a Warp Response.
Q: How do I find a previous conversation?
A: Tap the Conversation history clock icon, then either browse the date groups or tap the search icon and type a keyword. Warp names conversations from their content, so searching usually finds it fastest. See Viewing and Managing Chat History.
Q: How do I delete a conversation?
A: In the history panel, tap the ⋯ next to it, tap Delete, then confirm. It cannot be undone, so export it first if you might want it. See Viewing and Managing Chat History.
Q: Can I save an image Warp generated?
A: Long-press the image in the response. You can download it, or send it straight into a new email, note, task or calendar event. See Saving an Image Warp Generated.
