Deleting a Note¶
What it does¶
Deleting a note sends it to the Bin (soft-delete). Notes in the Bin can be restored. To permanently remove a note, use Delete Forever from inside the Bin view; this cannot be undone.
How to use it¶
Delete a note (soft-delete to Bin): 1. Swipe left on a note card → tap the trash icon. The note moves to the Bin. 2. Or open the note → tap ⋯ → Delete Note → confirm in the dialog ("Are you sure you want to delete this note?"). 3. Or use multi-select: select notes → tap the trash icon in the selection toolbar.
View deleted notes: 4. On the Notes list, tap ⋯ → Bin to switch to Bin view (heading "Bin" appears). Return via ⋯ → All Notes.
Restore a note from the Bin: 5. In Bin view, swipe right on a note → tap Restore. Or open the note → tap ⋯ → Restore. 6. For bulk restore: enter multi-select in Bin view → select notes → tap Restore in the selection toolbar.
Permanently delete: 7. In Bin view, swipe left on a note → tap the trash icon → confirm: "Are you sure you want to delete this? Once notes are permanently deleted you cannot recover." 8. Or open a Bin note → tap ⋯ → Delete Forever → confirm: "Are you sure you want to permanently delete this note? This action cannot be undone."
| Action | Result |
|---|---|
| Swipe left / Delete Note | Soft-delete → Bin |
| Restore | Returns to main notes list |
| Delete Forever / swipe left in Bin | Permanent, cannot be recovered |
Tips & shortcuts¶
- Deleted notes go to the Bin first; you can restore them at any time. There is no automatic expiry for Bin notes.
- Delete Forever is irreversible. If unsure, use Archive instead to keep the note recoverable.
- Bulk permanent delete: in Bin view, enter multi-select → select notes → tap Delete Forever (shown in red).
