Rich Text Editing in Notes¶
What it does¶
The Notes body is a full rich-text editor. You can apply headings (H1/H2/H3), bold, italic, underline, ordered and unordered lists, and hyperlinks. A formatting panel, font size picker, and undo/redo history stack are built in.
How to use it¶
- Open a note and tap the body to show the keyboard and the formatting toolbar at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap the Aa (text-format) icon in the toolbar to open the active formats panel: a popover with heading level (H1/H2/H3), bold, italic, underline, ordered list, unordered list, and font size controls.
- To apply formatting, either select text first (then tap the format button), or position your cursor and tap to apply to new text. Active formats are highlighted in the panel.
- To set a heading, tap H1 (26px), H2 (22px), or H3 (18px) in the active formats panel. Body text is 16px.
- To insert a hyperlink, tap the link icon in the toolbar, enter the URL and display text in the modal, then confirm.
- To undo a change, tap the undo button in the active formats panel. warpSpeed maintains up to 10 undo states, snapshotted 1.2 seconds after you stop typing. The redo stack clears when you make new edits after an undo.
- After an AI Tidy Up, a Previous version panel appears below the note body, tap ⋯ to expand it, Hide to collapse it. It is read-only.
