Task Checklist¶
What it does¶
The Checklist section lets you add a list of sub-steps or action items to a task. It uses a rich-text editor (the same engine as Description) so you can format the checklist with bullet points, numbered lists, bold text, and more.
How to use it¶
- Open a task and tap the Checklist section to expand it.
- The placeholder text reads "Add Checklist", tap inside the editor to start.
- Type your checklist items. Use the formatting toolbar to structure them:
- B: Bold
- I: Italic
- U: Underline
- Unordered list, ideal for unordered steps
- Ordered list, ideal for sequential steps
- Link: insert a URL
- When done, tap the Save button (checkmark icon) in the toolbar. A "Checklist saved" notification confirms the save.
- Tap the Close button (X icon) to collapse the checklist editor without discarding saved content.
Tips & shortcuts¶
- Unlike the Description field, the Checklist has a dedicated Save button; it doesn't auto-save on navigation. Always tap Save before leaving the section.
- The AI Breakdown Task button in the Description section can append a generated breakdown directly to the checklist. See Task Description for the workflow.
- Use ordered lists for step-by-step processes where sequence matters; unordered lists for independent action items.
Verification note¶
⚠️ The Checklist does not currently render as interactive tick-boxes inside the editor; it is a rich-text note rather than a true checkbox list. Confirm with the team whether checklist items can be individually ticked off, or whether completion is tracked at the task level only.
