Reading an Email

What it does

Opening an email brings up the full message in a dedicated detail view, where you can read the content, see attachments, and take any follow-up action (reply, forward, mark, or categorise) without leaving the screen.

How to use it

  1. Open the Inbox tab, or a group on the Priorities tab, and tap any email in the list.
  2. The email opens in the Email Detail view. Scroll down to read the full message.
  3. To see who the email was sent to, tap the Recipients Details area near the top of the message header.
  4. Attachments appear below the email body, tap any attachment to open it.
  5. To action the email, tap the overflow menu (three-dot or action bar) to reveal:
  6. Reply: compose a reply to the sender only.
  7. Reply All: compose a reply to the sender and all recipients.
  8. Forward: send the email to a new recipient.
  9. Mark as Unread: resets the email to unread so it surfaces again later.
  10. Mark as Priority: flags the email as important.
  11. Category: assigns the email to a category.
  12. Tap the back arrow to return to your inbox.

Tips & shortcuts

  • Opening an email automatically marks it as read. If you opened it by accident, tap Mark as Unread immediately to restore it.
  • Use Mark as Priority on emails that need follow-up but aren't urgent enough to action right now, they'll stand out in your inbox.
