Creating a Task¶
What it does¶
Create a new task from anywhere in the app; either from the Task list or via the Add button in the bottom navigation. Every task starts with a title; all other details are optional and can be filled in immediately or later.
How to use it¶
- Tap the Add button (+) in the bottom tab bar, or, from the Tasks screen, tap the add icon in the top-right corner.
- The Create Task screen opens.
- Type your task Title in the text field at the top. The title is the only required field.
- Optionally fill in any task sections below (Timeline, Priority, Description, Checklist, Attachments, Reminders, and so on). Each section is collapsible, tap a section header to expand it.
- Tap Save to create the task. It appears in your task list immediately.
Task sections available on creation¶
All sections visible when creating a task:
- Basic Info: title, tags, start date, and due date (shown in the header area).
- Timeline: Start Date, Due Date, and Deadline Time.
- Priority: High, Medium, or Low.
- Add People: assign the task to yourself or others.
- Description: freeform rich-text body with AI generation.
- Checklist: a sub-list of steps with its own rich-text editor.
- Attachments: link emails, notes, calendar events, or upload files.
- Reminders: notification triggers before the due date.
- Location: attach a place to the task.
- Time Required: estimated duration (AI-assisted).
- Tags: keyword labels (AI-suggested).
- Colour: a visual colour label for the task card.
- History: change log (only meaningful after the task exists).
Note: Task Group, Add Meeting, and Recurring tasks are not yet available; those sections are reserved for a future release.
Tips & shortcuts¶
- You can create a task with just a title and fill in everything else later; open the task from your list and edit any section.
- Tasks can also be created by Warp: say "Create a task to review the budget by Friday" and Warp handles the rest.
