Message Composer

What it does

The message composer is the input area at the bottom of every chat. It lets you type and send messages, reply to a specific message, attach files, and edit a previously sent message.

How to use it

Send a message: 1. Tap the text input (placeholder: "Aa") in the composer at the bottom of the chat. 2. Type your message. The input grows vertically with content. 3. Tap the send button (green background) to send.

Attach a file: 4. Tap the paperclip (attachment) button (green background, left of the text input). 5. The attachment drawer opens with four options: Audio, Camera, Gallery, Upload Document. 6. Select an option and choose your file.

Reply to a message: 7. Long-press a message → tap Reply. A reply banner appears above the composer showing the original message. 8. Type your reply and send. The sent message is threaded beneath the original. Tap × on the banner to cancel.

Edit a sent message: 9. Long-press your own message → tap Edit (from More actions). 10. The composer switches to edit mode with the label "Edit Message" and the original text pre-filled. 11. Edit the text, then tap ✓ to confirm. Tap × to cancel.

Invoke Warp AI: 12. Type @Warp followed by your question in the text input and send. The hint below the composer reads: "Use @Warp to bring your AI assistant into any chat."

Tips & shortcuts

  • Type @Warp anywhere in your message to get AI help without leaving the chat.
  • The edit ✓ button replaces the send button in edit mode, tap × to exit edit mode without saving changes.
