Editing a Calendar Event

What it does

Open any event you own and edit any field, title, time, guests, description, location, recurrence, or colour. Changes can be saved to just one occurrence or to the whole series for recurring events.

How to use it

From the event detail screen

  1. Tap an event on the calendar to open its Detail view.
  2. Tap the Edit icon (pencil / create-outline icon) in the top-right corner.
  3. The Edit Event screen opens with all current values pre-filled.
  4. Change any field.
  5. Tap Save.
  6. If the event is recurring, a modal appears: "Which events do you want to edit?"
  7. This Event: edits only this occurrence.
  8. Following Events: edits this and all future occurrences.
  9. All Events: edits the entire series. Select the scope and tap Save.

Notifying guests

When you save changes to an event that has guests, warpSpeed sends a notification to all attendees by default (Send Notification is enabled). If you want to make a minor edit without notifying guests, disable Send Notification before saving.

What can be edited

All fields set during creation can be edited after the fact, title, timeline, recurrence, description, location, guests, priority, reminders, colour, tags, attachments, confidentiality, and lock status.

Who can edit an event

  • The event owner (creator) can edit all fields.
  • Guests cannot edit the event unless the owner has granted them admin-level access.
  • For shared calendar events (Calendar Shadowing), your edit permissions depend on whether you own the calendar.

Tips & shortcuts

  • Use Following Events when rescheduling a recurring meeting from a certain date forward; it leaves historical occurrences intact.
  • All Events is most useful for correcting a mistake made when the series was first created (e.g. wrong title or location).
