Attaching Files to a Warp Message¶
What it does¶
You can attach images and documents to a message, giving Warp something to read, reason about or act on alongside your question.
How to use it¶
- Open Ask Warp and tap the paperclip button in the composer.
- The attachment sheet slides up with three options:
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Camera | Take a photo now and attach it |
| Gallery | Pick images from your photo library, up to 20 at once |
| Files | Pick a document from your device: PDF, plain text or images |
- Choose or capture what you want. It appears as a preview in the composer.
- Type a message alongside it. This is optional but worth doing: it tells Warp what you want done with the file.
- Send. Warp responds based on both the attachment and your message.
To close the sheet without attaching anything, tap outside it or swipe it down.
When something does not attach¶
- Camera permission not granted: "Permission Denied; You need to grant permission to access the camera to upload files." Grant it under Permissions in the User Centre, or in your device settings.
- Unsupported file type: "Unsupported files; We don't support these files:" followed by the filenames it rejected.
Tips & shortcuts¶
- Attach a photo of a timetable, receipt or letter and ask Warp to pull the details out. For example: "Here is an image of my timetable for this weekend. Can you add these as events in my calendar?"
- Say what the file is. "What is this?" gives Warp far less to work with than "This is a gym schedule, can you add the classes as calendar events?"
- Up to 20 images at once is useful when you want Warp to look across several screenshots or photos together.
