Duplicate Contacts

What it does

warpSpeed detects when the same person appears as multiple contacts, typically because the same person is synced from different accounts (e.g. Google Contacts and Outlook). A red alert circle icon on the contact card and a warning on the details screen flag the duplicate. Two resolution options are provided: merge or keep all.

How to use it

  1. Spot a contact with a red alert-circle icon on their card in the Contacts list; this means a duplicate has been detected.
  2. Tap the contact to open their details screen. A duplicate warning banner appears at the top.
  3. Tap the warning banner (or the resolution prompt) to open the resolution popup with two options:
Option What it does
Edit & Merge Opens a merge editor showing fields from both contacts side-by-side. Choose which values to keep for each field, then confirm to create the merged contact in warpSpeed.
Keep All Contacts Dismisses the duplicate alert without merging. The contacts remain separate but the red warning is cleared.

Edit & Merge flow: 4. In the merge editor, review each field (name, phone, email, address, etc.) from both contact records. 5. Select the value to keep for each field. 6. Tap Confirm to create the merged contact.

Tips & shortcuts

  • Merging only affects warpSpeed's representation; the original contacts in Google, Outlook, or iCloud remain unchanged and will continue to sync as before.
  • If you merge and later need to undo, you would need to re-edit the merged contact manually; there is no undo for a merge.
  • Keep All Contacts is useful when two similarly named contacts are actually different people; it clears the warning without merging.
