Archiving Emails and Marking as Unread¶
What it does¶
Archiving removes an email from your active inbox once you've dealt with it. Marking as Unread brings it back to your attention, useful when you've opened something but can't action it yet.
How to use it¶
In Email Flow: 1. Open the Flow tab from any of the email screens. 2. At the bottom of the screen, two buttons appear: - Archive: tap to file the current email away. - Mark as Unread: tap to reset the email as unread and move to the next. 3. The next email loads automatically after you act.
From the Email Detail view: 1. Open an email by tapping it in any list or from Email Flow. 2. Tap the action menu (three-dot or action bar). 3. Tap Mark as Unread to flag it for later. The email returns to your inbox as unread and you're taken back to the list.
Tips & shortcuts¶
- Archive is your default "done" action; it clears the email from your inbox without deleting it permanently.
- Mark as Unread is ideal for emails you've skimmed but need to read properly later. The unread indicator ensures they don't get buried.
- A common mistake is using Delete when you mean Archive. Delete removes the email permanently (or moves it to trash), while Archive keeps it searchable.
