Viewing and Managing Chat History

What it does

Every conversation you have with Warp is kept, named automatically from its content, and grouped by date. You can search them, pick one up again, or delete it.

Opening your history

Tap the Conversation history button, the clock icon. In the sheet it is at the top left of the conversation; on the full-screen page it is in the header at the top right, next to New chat.

The history panel slides in from the left with your conversations grouped by date.

Resuming a conversation

Tap any conversation to open it. It replaces whatever is currently on screen, and you carry on where you left off.

Searching

  1. Tap the search icon in the history panel.
  2. The search bar appears, with the placeholder "Search conversations".
  3. Type to filter by name. Results narrow as you type.
  4. Tap a result to open it.

Deleting a conversation

  1. Find the conversation in the panel.
  2. Tap the ⋯ menu to the right of its name.
  3. Tap Delete.
  4. A confirmation appears: "Delete conversation", "This conversation and all its messages will be permanently deleted."
  5. Tap Delete to confirm.

This cannot be undone. If you might want the content later, export it first; see Exporting a Conversation.

Tips & shortcuts

  • Warp names conversations from what they were about, so searching a keyword from the session is usually faster than scrolling the date groups.
  • With no conversations yet, the panel shows "No Chats".
  • Deleting is for tidying up, not for privacy from yourself: if the answer might be useful later, start a new chat instead and leave the old one alone.
