Chat List Swipe Actions

What it does

Swiping a chat row on the Chats list reveals quick actions, mute/unmute on the right (swipe right), delete on the left (swipe left). Chats can also be marked as read or unread from inside the chat's ⋯ menu.

How to use it

Mute or unmute a chat: 1. Swipe right on a chat row in the list. 2. The left-side action appears: - If notifications are on: mute icon (notifications-off-outline, purple), tap to mute. - If already muted: unmute icon (notifications-outline), tap to unmute. 3. Muting suppresses push notifications for that conversation immediately. A notifications-off-outline icon appears on the muted chat row.

Delete a chat: 4. Swipe left on a chat row. 5. A trash icon (red background) appears, tap it. 6. A confirmation alert appears: "Are you sure you want to delete this chat?" → tap Confirm. 7. The chat is deleted and the list refreshes.

Mark as read or unread: 8. Open a chat → tap ⋯ → Mark as read / Mark as unread. 9. Unread chats display their latest message preview in bold black text.

Tips & shortcuts

  • Swiping left on a chat is irreversible once you confirm deletion; the chat and all its messages are removed.
  • Muting a chat is the fastest way to suppress notifications for a noisy group without leaving the conversation.
