Message Attachments¶
What it does¶
The message composer's attachment button opens a drawer with four options for attaching content to a chat message. Attachments appear as message bubbles in the thread and are also accessible in the Shared Media screen.
How to use it¶
- In any chat, tap the paperclip (attachment) button (green background, left of the text input).
- The attachment drawer opens. Tap an option:
| Option | Icon | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Audio | headset-outline | Record or attach an audio file |
| Camera | camera-outline | Take a photo or video with the device camera |
| Gallery | image-outline | Pick a photo or video from the device gallery |
| Upload Document | attach-outline | Browse and upload a file from the device (PDF, Word, spreadsheet, etc.) |
- Select or capture your file. It is sent as a message in the chat.
- Tap an attachment in the chat thread to view it or access actions (download, share, etc.).
- All attachments shared in the chat are also viewable in the Shared Media screen, see Shared Media.
Tips & shortcuts¶
- Use Gallery for existing photos and Camera to take a fresh photo without leaving the chat.
- All files you send are also stored in Shared Media; a useful place to find files sent weeks ago without scrolling through the chat.
