Exporting a Conversation

What it does

Export turns a Warp answer, or a whole conversation, into a PDF or Word file saved to your device.

How to use it

  1. Below an answer, tap the export icon.
  2. Choose Export Answer or Export Full Chat.
  3. The Export Options screen opens with three fields:
  4. Export, already set from your choice in step 2. Change it here if you picked wrong.
  5. File Name, pre-filled with the conversation's title. Edit it if you want something more descriptive. Characters a filename cannot contain (/ \ : * ? " < > |) are replaced with underscores for you.
  6. File Type, either PDF (the default) or Docx.
  7. Tap to download. The file is saved to your device and opens straight away in its document preview.

If the export does not go through

  • "Please select what to export." Nothing chosen in the Export field.
  • "Please enter a file name." The name is empty.
  • "Please choose a file type." No format selected.
  • "Couldn't download your export." The file could not be generated or saved; try again.

Tips & shortcuts

  • PDF is the right choice for sending to someone, since it looks the same everywhere. Choose Docx only if you need to edit it afterwards.
  • Warp names conversations itself, so the pre-filled filename is usually descriptive enough to leave alone.
  • If you only need the text rather than a file, Copy conversation in the response controls is faster.
