Event and Calendar Colours¶
What it does¶
Calendar events can be colour-coded two ways: by the colour you set on the event itself, or by the colour of the calendar it belongs to. A separate display mode lets you colour events by priority (High/Medium/Low) instead of by calendar. Calendar accounts themselves also each have a colour you can customise.
How to use it¶
Set a colour on an event: 1. In the Create or Edit Event screen, tap the Colour field (shows a coloured circle + "Event colour" label). 2. The colour picker modal opens. Select from the available colours: - Aqua Mist, Powder Blue, Pale Honey, Fresh Mint, Rose Petal, Lavender Haze, Cloud Blue, Frosted Gray, Peach Cream, Silver Haze, Coral Whisper. 3. Tap a colour to select it. The event block on the calendar updates accordingly.
Colour priority rules: - If an event has its own colour set → that colour is used. - If no event colour is set → the calendar's colour is used. - Shared calendar events use the shared calendar's colour (Shadow Default scheme).
Switch the display colour mode: 4. Open the Calendar Side Menu (hamburger icon, top-left). 5. Scroll to the Display Colours section and select: - Display Colours by Calendar (default), event blocks use the event or calendar colour. - Display Colours by Priority: event blocks are coloured by priority level: - High priority → Rose Petal (pink/mauve) - Low priority → Fresh Mint (green) - Medium / no priority → Pale Honey (yellow) 6. The calendar updates immediately.
Change a calendar account's colour: 7. Open the Calendar Side Menu. 8. Tap the colour swatch next to a calendar account name. 9. Select a new colour from the picker.
Tips & shortcuts¶
- Use Display Colours by Priority during busy periods to quickly spot HIGH priority commitments vs. low-stakes ones across your whole calendar.
- Event-level colours override calendar colours, useful if you want one specific event to stand out on a calendar that otherwise uses a shared colour.
