Messenger Overview

What it does

The Chats tab is warpSpeed's built-in messenger. It lists all your direct and group conversations in a single feed, shows the latest message preview, and lets you filter the list by type or search across chats and messages.

How to use it

1. Tap the Chats tab in the bottom navigation to open the chat list.
2. Each chat row shows: profile picture (tap to open contact details), chat name, latest message preview (bold and black when unread), timestamp, and (when applicable) a gold priority star, mute icon, or green unread count badge.
3. If the other person is typing, the preview is replaced with "[Name] is typing...".
4. Use the filter bar below the header to narrow the list: All / Unread / Groups / Priority / Images / Videos / Tags. There is no longer a Favourites filter; a chat you want to keep an eye on is marked as a Priority.
5. Tap the search icon (top-right) to search across chats and messages.
6. Tap any chat row to open that conversation.
7. Tap the floating new-chat button (bottom-right) to start a new conversation.

Empty state: When no chats match the selected filter, a NoChatView component is shown with an option to start a new chat.

Tips & shortcuts

• The Unread filter instantly shows only conversations that need your attention.
• Swipe right on a chat row to mute/unmute it; swipe left to delete it, see Chat List Swipe Actions.
• Use @Warp in any chat to bring the AI assistant into the conversation.
