Task Swipe Actions¶
What it does¶
Swipe gestures on task cards in the list give you quick access to archiving, deleting, and calendar actions, without opening the task. The available actions change depending on which view (normal, archived, or deleted) you're in.
How to use it¶
Left swipe¶
| Current view | Left swipe action |
|---|---|
| Normal list (To Do, All Tasks, etc.) | Add to Calendar: links the task to a calendar event |
| Bin (deleted tasks) | Restore: moves the task back to your To Do List |
Add to Calendar: Swipe left on any active task → tap Add to Calendar. Creates or links a calendar event tied to the task's due date.
Restore: Swipe left on a task in the Bin → tap Restore. The task returns to its previous state in To Do List.
Right swipe¶
| Current view | Right swipe actions |
|---|---|
| Normal list | Archive: moves task to the Archive view |
| Archive | Unarchive: moves task back to To Do List |
| Bin | Permanently Delete: removes the task forever (no recovery) |
Archive: Swipe right on an active task → tap Archive. The task moves to the Archive view and no longer appears in active task lists.
Unarchive: Swipe right on an archived task → tap Unarchive. The task returns to To Do List.
Permanently Delete: Swipe right on a task in the Bin → tap Permanently Delete. The task is deleted immediately and cannot be recovered.
The deletion lifecycle¶
- Active task → right swipe → Archive (safe, reversible).
- Alternatively, delete via the task detail menu → task moves to Bin (held for 30 days).
- After 30 days → automatically permanently deleted.
- Or: in the Bin, right swipe → Permanently Delete (immediate, irreversible).
Tips & shortcuts¶
- Archive is the safer choice if you're unsure; archived tasks can be unarchived at any time. The Bin is for tasks you're certain are no longer needed.
- Deleted tasks remain recoverable from the Bin for 30 days before the system permanently removes them.
- You cannot permanently delete from an active or archive view, tasks must pass through the Bin first.
